How do I update the device software on Nokia phones that are running S40/Symbian

This can be as easy - just using the software update application or Nokia Suite phone to download the update. This entire process takes less than ten minutes, and according to the speed of your connection. You can use the following:

  1.  Wi-Fi network that is connected to the phone
  2.  Contact your phone's cellular data
  3.  Internet connection to your computer, using Nokia Suite
If you are using a cellular data connection for your phone to update the software, you may have to pay for the data. Usually use a Wi-Fi network or Internet connection to your computer faster and less expensive. Update Packages offers free software from Nokia.

  • Update over the phone:

For most devices, select Menu> Settings> Phone> Phone updates or Menu> Applications> Tools> Software Update. If you can not find the application "software update" of these existing sites, check the correct location in the user manual.
Update from your computer:
Install Nokia Suite on your computer from your local Nokia website.
Connect your phone to a computer via a USB cable.
Start Nokia Suite, then choose Tools> Software Update.
Select the required updates to download, and then select Install.
